My favorite line-up is MK III. Nothing beats Blackmore and Coverdale for me.

What line-up is your favorite?

I read an article on Blabbermouth about Deep Purple trying to get Ritchie Blackmore to join them for their upcoming reunion. Supposedly, its going to be a gala event.

Maybe he will do it if they promise to let Candice play the tambourine...

Pick up the 25th anniversary Machine Head , Remaster/Remix ,CD's
You can find it at Best Buy for about $13.00 .It comes with a booklet about the recording of the album.
On Roger Glover's Remix , It sounds like a Live album, with alternate drum and guitar solo's and extended versions of some songs.
Check out Guitar God Ritchie Blackmore's alternate solo on Smoke on the Water.......The Remix CD is Better than the original.
It's a must have for any Deep Purple fan.

Here's something you big DP fans (Deep Purple, you pervs) can really get into:

DEEP PURPLE's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"DEEP PURPLE has given so much to the fans over the years and now we want to give something back to them. DeepPurple.org is compiling a fan scrapbook and we need your help! We want you to submit a page to be included in the scrapbook.

"Get together all of your DEEP PURPLE memories ‚Äö?†??‚Äö?¢‚Ä¢ ticket stubs, photos of the band, newspaper clippings, and ‚Äö?†??‚Äö?¢‚Ä¢ most importantly ‚Äö?†??‚Äö?¢‚Ä¢ pictures of you, the fans! We'll then put together the best pages to be included in the scrapbook, which we will present to the band.

"Don't want to give up your most prized possessions? No problem ‚Äö?†??‚Äö?¢‚Ä¢ scan your page into the computer and email it to contests@deeppurple.org. Just make sure to put 'Holiday Scrapbook' in the subject line. Want to send your page via snail mail? Send it to:

4 Brussels Street

Worcester, MA

01610

Attn: 'Deep Purple Fan Scrapbook'

"Make sure to submit your materials by Friday, December 14th so we have enough time to put everything together. As a thank you for submitting items for the scrapbook, everyone who submits will get a $5 Gift Card to the DeepPurple.org store ‚Äö?†??‚Äö?¢‚Ä¢ just in time for the holidays! Not only that, but the person who submits the coolest page for the scrapbook will win an autographed photo of the band! Now THAT is a good stocking stuffer!

"Spread the word to other DEEP PURPLE fans ‚Äö?†??‚Äö?¢‚Ä¢ we want to make this a great gift for the band, but we can't do it with out your help!"

It's official:

According to a posting on the DEEP PURPLE fan site The Highway Star, Guinness World Records has officially confirmed the new record for the "Largest Guitar Ensemble" with 1,802 players performing the PURPLE classic "Smoke on the Water". The record was set on June 23, 2007 in Leinfelden, Germany (near Stuttgart). That event was organized by Guitar World Record. The previous record of 1,721 players was rather short-lived as it was set just three weeks before on June 3, 2007 in Kansas City, Kansas, United States.

Guinness people said that they are considering an entry in the next Book of Records, but there's no guarantee.

The CD and DVD from the current (German) world record will be released on January 25, 2008 on Zounds/CMS and will contain live recording of the world record version, the original from DEEP PURPLE, plus other "Smoke on the Water" covers from PAT BOONE, MUNGO JERRY, MICHAEL GAEDT, DJ TOASTIE, and a playback track for practice. The official release party will be held on February 23 during the Born2befree Festival. A special Kombiticket will get you the CD and admission to the festival for 12 euros. The CD can be also ordered directly from Zounds.

The world-record certificate and the CD will be presented on December 17 at 17:30 at the Palm Beach Club in Stuttgart.
