Perfect Strangers is my fave, but then again, I'm not the biggest DP fan. I don't dislike them, but never got into it. I also dig the stuff with Coverdale.

DEEP PURPLE fan site The Highway Star reports that PURPLE gave a closed private performance on December 18 at the Congress Centre in Zurich, Switzerland. According to Swiss websites 20min.ch and Blick.ch, the gig was organized and financed by Swiss banker Stefan J. and three other individuals. About 1000 people attended the concert. Reportedly, Ian Gillan started gig with the announcement "Hello and welcome to the LED ZEPPELIN reunion!"

Now that's freaking hysterical!

Dmitry Zhdannikov of Reuters reports that UK hard rock legends DEEP PURPLE are heading for Moscow as a farewell gift to Dmitry Medvedev, the chairman of gas giant Gazprom and almost certainly Russia's next president.

Medvedev has told interviewers DEEP PURPLE, known for hits such as "Smoke on the Water", are his favorite band.

The rock group will perform at a show Gazprom is putting on at the Kremlin to mark the 15th anniversary of the firm's creation, industry sources told Reuters.

Both Medvedev and outgoing president Vladimir Putin are expected at the party on February 11.

Purple!@

man what a band!

I loooooooved Purple! I travelled 8 hours by train in march to see Purple in Birmingham, England and froze my tackle off.

blackmore was a tosser and would walk off stage mid way through songs but the rest of the band rocked out.

I saw them again about 8-9 years ago and they were brilliant. Ian Gillian looked quite the gentleman and Ian Paice can still play like a mofo!

endless procession of brilliant music played by brillaint musicians! Not a duffer amongst them

It's hard to beat that disc, no matter which way you twist the knobs.

My second favorite Deep Purple album is "Fireball", it still sounds f-ing GREAT!!

"Perfect Strangers" would also make it in my top 5 albums because "Knocking At Your Back Door" and the title track are two of their best songs ever.

I recieved a great lap-dance to Perfect Strangers once in Tucson AZ..... :D...Schwiing!!
