What's up Dragon235, I thought they shut this site down.. :?

The great Ian Gillan sings on it with Paice, Glover, Lord and Morse.

Trust me Abandon's a goodie!

I love 1998's "Abandon" CD. , after a few listens the whole CD really grabs you.

I would even put it in my top 5 of all Deep Purple CD's and the best one with guitarist Steve Morse.

The songs "Any Fule Know That", "Don't Make Me Happy", "Seventh Heaven", "Jack Ruby", "She Was", "Whatsername" and a remake of "Boodsucker" make this CD. well worth having.

:B

I don't necessarily disagree, Mike. "Abandon" is certainly one of their better releases out of their later stuff. Can't say it's in my top 5, but I give it a spin every now and then.

I just saw Deep Purple with Joe Satriani opening up Saturday night 6/25/11 in Concord CA.

It was great...Joe Satriani came out and joined Deep Purple and played dueling guitar solos with Steve Morse before launching into a twin guitar attack version of Smoke On The Water.

Set List

1.Highway Star
2.Hard Lovin' Man
3.Maybe I'm a Leo
4.Strange Kind of Woman
5.Rapture of the Deep
6.Woman From Tokyo
7.Contact Lost
8.Guitar Solo
9.When a Blind Man Cries
10.The Well-Dressed Guitar
11.Knocking at Your Back Door
12.Lazy
13.No One Came
14.Keyboard Solo
15.Perfect Strangers
16.Space Truckin'
17.Smoke on the Water
Encore:
18.Hush
19.Bass Solo
20.Black Night

Yeah, it made for a good bill because unfortunately many young people have no idea who Deep Purple even are?

Satch brought out some of the 18 to 35 yr olds and since he is from here (Bay Area) it helped push ticket sales at this local outdoor ampitheater.

Now, that'd be a show I'd like to see... even if it is without the legendary Mr. Poofy-Shirt.
