Deep Purple RULES!

When they got the guitar slinging services of the great Dreg STEVE MORSE I was very impressed. Steve Morse is one of my favorite guitar players on the planet. I am a HUGE DIXIE DREGS/DREGS/STEVE MORSE BAND FAN!

He has saved DP from the gallow's pole in my mind.

Anyway saying that my favorite DP line up is a simple one.

David Coverdale
Glenn Hughes
Ian Paice
Ritchie Blackmore
John Lord

"BURN" is my favorite DEEP PURPLE cd!

Sincerely,

"Ted The Mechanic" :D

PS: I love Tommy Bolin too! What an amazing talent. "LAST CONCERT IN JAPAN" RULES!!

That's my favorite DP lineup too. Then again, I always thought Ian Gillan was overrated.

Yep... same lineup for me. "Burn" is the disc to end all discs. "Stormbringer" is a classic, too. 8)

I liked the Gillan years too, though... "Fireball" and "Machine Head" are worth their weight in gold.

I agree. I don't like Ian's vocals on the new stuff.

I have all the GILLAN BAND cds too. Japan pressings. Not really into them but it is a rare collection.

As a Y&T Fanatic I must mention that my favorite Ian Gillan solo cd is called TOOLBOX!

Oh yeah man, the great Leonard Haze is on the drums for that recording.

Haze is the SHIT!!!

I wish he was going to play the drums at The Fillmore show with Y&T!!!

Oh well.

Life goes on!!!

I think PURPENDICULAR is a great record.

I picked up a copy of the Gillan Band's "Live Yubin Chokin Hall, Hiroshima 1977" from the local Tower Records just before they locked it up... That one rocks pretty hard.

Machine Head, Burn, Perfect Strangers. My 3 favourites...

A lot of the Purple fans hate the Slaves And Masters album, but I like that too.. even though it sounds just as much as the 83' version of Rainbow...

I also like the older stuff with Rod Evans..

"Slaves & Masters" is a great disc... probably because it IS the '83 version of Rainbow. 8)
