Bassist Joey Vera (ARMORED SAINT, FATES WARNING, ANTHRAX) has joined the backing band of 22-year-old Estonian female singer Marya Roxx (a.k.a. Maarja). The group, which is rounded out by guitarist Paul Crook (MEAT LOAF, ex-ANTHRAX, SEBASTIAN BACH) and drummer John Miceli, is currently rehearsing in Las Vegas, Nevada while performing every Wednesday and Thursday night at Divebar (3035 E. Tropicana Blvd.) in preparation for the band's slot at Musexpo 2008.

Musexpo (United Nations Of Music & Media) will take place at the House of Blues in Hollywood, California on April 28.

Los Angeles metal veterans ARMORED SAINT will play Mexico for the first time ever on May 31 at Circo Volador in Mexico City. Support at the gig will come from FUELED BY FIRE, STRIKEMASTER and VOLTAX.

The ARMORED SAINT show will kick off a great week for Mexican ANTHRAX fans who will be able to see two of the band's former vocalists perform on the same stage, though five days apart — ARMORED SAINT (featuring John Bush) on May 31 and Joey Belladonna (with his solo band BELLADONNA) on June 5 (also at Circo Volador).

ARMORED SAINT has been confirmed for this year's Rocklahoma festival, which will be held July 10-13, 2008 at the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds, four miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma. SAINT will play on Friday, July 11 on the main stage alongside KINGDOM COME, NIGHT RANGER, EXTREME and the original lineup of TRIUMPH.

ARMORED SAINT/FATES WARNING bass player Joey Vera has issued the following update:

"For the first time ever, SAINT will be playing in Mexico City on Saturday, May 31st at Circo Volador. Also on the bill is L.A.'s own thrashers FUELED BY FIRE. We're very excited about playing in South America for the first time ever. Having been there before myself with ANTHRAX, I know how crazy the crowds are so we're expecting a totally sick show! If you're anywhere in the area, you don't want to miss this! I'm also playing a show with [22-year-old Estonian female singer] MARYA ROXX [real name: Maarja Kivi] on this Saturday, May 10th at Divebar in Las Vegas, NV. And playing right after us is PEARL (featuring Scott Ian of ANTHRAX). This is a free show so come out from the desert if you dare!

"As of now, SAINT has no plans to play a warm up show in Los Angeles before we head out to play the Rocklahoma festival on July 11th, but you never know. That could change..."

Los Angeles metal veterans ARMORED SAINT have issued the following update:

"ARMORED SAINT regret to announce the postponement of their [May 31] show [at Circo Volador] in Mexico City. As the show was booked on short notice, this caused us to miss advertising deadlines and not have enough time to properly promote the show. The band are intent on coming to Mexico City soon and making their first show there memorable for all. A new date will be posted shortly"

I meant to mention this yesterday. I spoke to RockerBob the other day on Y&T... He posted that the band has reunited and is playing some dates out west... and apparently is hooking into the European festival circuit. Hopefully, it'll bloom into a full-time gig for them... that band kicked ass! 8)
