Yeah... Hey guys! This year, let's do "A Twisted Hanukkah!"... :idea2:

We can do a DVD of us spinning a dreidel! After all, we wouldn't want to devalue ourselves by actually playing our instruments in front people...

He said a mouthful right there... but I'm not really sure he realizes that... :lmao:

According to Modern Drummer, drummer Joe Markowski (a.k.a. "Fast" Joey Brighton) died on April 14. He was 57 years old.

Markowski was well known in the New York area as a drum teacher in the '70s, working out of VANILLA FUDGE drummer Carmine Appice's Oceanside drum studio. Top drummers — including Bobby Rondinelli (BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW) and Joe Franco (GOOD RATS, TWISTED SISTER) — studied with Markowski, who himself had played with the GOOD RATS and TWISTED SISTER.

WTSP.com reports: Teachers at a local [Valrico, Florida] high school are tired of students breaking the rules and say they're not going to take it anymore.

"We love our students. We're just poking a bit of fun at their bad habits," says TV production teacher Jim Anteau.

The music video, set to the classic TWISTED SISTER tune "We're Not Gonna Take It", is a chance for teachers to vent.

The video begins with the principal, who has a texting, dress-code breaking student in his office.

I'm sure those students think their teachers are super-cool, what with picking a song that came out at least 5 years before the students were born!

I haven't the lightest idea what any of her stuff sounds like. Sometimes it's good not having tv.

According to the Dictators Forever, Forever Dictators blog, former THE DICTATORS and TWISTED SISTER drummer Richard Teeter has died at the age of 61.

Teeter joined TWISTED SISTER in December 1980 as the replacement for Tony Petri, who left the group for THE PLASMATICS. In April 1981, Teeter — who never appeared on any studio releases from TWISTED SISTER — was replaced by "Fast" Joey Brighton, who was in turn replaced by A.J. Pero from CITIES, another unsigned band with local fame.

Teeter became a member of THE DICTATORS in 1976 and was featured on their albums "Manifest Destiny" (1977) and "Bloodbrothers" (1978) before exiting the band in 1979.

Eagle Rock Entertainment/Armoury Records will get heavy on May 29 when it re-releases the double-disc TWISTED SISTER "Live At Hammersmith" as well as "Club Daze 2: Live In The Bars". The two CD packages, sold separately, are an important part of this great band's legacy as it shows just how TWISTED they became over time.

"Club Daze 2: Live In The Bars" starts with two 1984 burners ("Never Say Never" and "Blastin' Fast & Loud") that didn't make their "Stay Hungry" album. Both songs were finally completed in 2001. The next seven tracks were recorded for a 1979 Halloween radio show that never aired. The final four tracks — including TWISTED covers of LITTLE RICHARD ("Long Tall Sally") and CHUCK BERRY ("Johnny B. Goode") — were taken from WLIR and WBAB radio sessions. Bassist Mark Mendoza has remastered all 13 tracks for this release.
"Live At Hammersmith" is a double-doozy: a 1984 blockbuster live performance at London's famed Hammersmith Odeon with two bonus covers from Portchester, New York in 1979 — Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock" and the 1951 jump blues "Train Kept A'Rollin'" that's been performed by everyone from Johnny Burnette to THE YARDBIRDS to LED ZEPPELIN to Jeff Beck. The Hammersmith show is an action-ball of 14 well-muscled metal jams which includes "We're Not Gonna Take It", "You Can't Stop Rock'n'Roll", "Under The Blade" and "Burn In Hell".

As the legend of TWISTED SISTER continues to expand worldwide and the demand for their live shows growing larger every year, these two discs complete the re-mastering process of the entire TWISTED SISTER catalog on Eagle Rock/Armoury Records just in time for the summer festival season.

"Club Daze" track listing:

01. Never Say Never
02. Blastin' Fast & Loud
03. Follow Me
04. Under The Blade
05. Lady's Boy
06. Come Back
07. Can't Stand Still
08. Honey, Look Three Times
09. You Know I Cry
10. Without You
11. Plastic Money
12. Long Tall Sally
13. Johnny B. Goode

"Live At Hammersmith" track listing:

Disc One:

01. What You Don't Know
02. The Kids Are Back
03. Stay Hungry
04. Destroyer
05. We're Not Gonna Take It
06. You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll
07. Knife In The Back
08. Shoot 'Em Down
09. Under The Blade

Disc Two:

01. Burn In Hell
02. I Am, I'm Me
03. I Wanna Rock
04. SMF
05. We're Gonna Make It

Bonus Tracks:

06. Jailhouse Rock
07. Train Kept A Rollin'

Well, I have the "Hammersmith" set... and I have "Club Daze 1"... so I guess I'll have to snag this one if I can't find it as a stand-alone.

According to Talking Points Memo, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider has slammed Paul Ryan, who was tapped last week to run for vice president on the Republican ticket alongside presumptive presidential nominee Mitt Romney, for using the band's 1984 hit "We're Not Gonna Take It" as intro music at a rally yesterday in Pennsylvania.

"I emphatically denounce Paul Ryan's use of my band TWISTED SISTER's song 'We're Not Gonna Take It' in any capacity," Snider said. "There is almost nothing he stands for that I agree with except the use of the P90X."

P90X, or Power 90 Extreme, is a commercial home exercise regimen, known for being intense. It is designed to take 90 days, and consists of a training program which uses cross-training (weight training, martial arts, yoga and old-school calisthenics) and periodization, combined with a nutrition and dietary supplement plan.

"We're Not Gonna Take It" and "Stay Hungry" were the biggest hit single and album, respectively, in TWISTED SISTER's career. Snider said "We're Not Gonna Take It" is now part of America's cultural fabric.

"It's become like a folk song. It's a traditional song now. It has a simple message that's applicable to everything from sports teams to politics. I even once heard about the song being used by people protesting the development of commercial property," he said.

The song's lyrics say in part "Oh you're so condescending/Your gall is never ending/We don't want nothin'/Not a thing from you."
