Yes – The band that has defined many a generation will embark on a mini-tour of very special intimate performances, encompassing their extraordinary musical catalog. This string of dates will kick-off early March for a select number of shows. These special intimate performances will give the Yes fan the ultimate experience of an up-close, in-your-face and personal view of the Maestros at work live!
"We're tremendously excited to be working with Yes on this incredible tour through so many of our House of Blues and other theaters,” states Michael Yerke (House of Blues Talent). “House of Blues is all about bringing music, artists and fans together in great venues. These concerts will be memorable and absolutely deliver on that promise.”
Being one of history's greatest, legendary, progressive rock bands, Yes will feature a lineup of guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire, and drummer Alan White, as well as Oliver Wakeman (son of Rick Wakeman) on keyboards and lead singer Benoit David. Songs that have left a deep-rooted mark on rock 'n' roll history and a concert spectacular that has become synonymous with Yes, make this tour one that should not be missed.
Yes's performance will include the hugely successful and indelible catalogue of music from hit albums such as Drama, Fragile, Close to the Edge and 90125. Classics such as “Roundabout,” a seminal hit which consistently appears on “the best songs of all-time” lists, and the group's #1 hit “Owner of a Lonely Heart” are sure to be featured for an evening of music not to be missed.
Yes's remarkable career has served to re-define the boundaries of rock for more than four decades, Yes has played the role as a dominant driving music force selling over 30 million albums, reaching platinum status multiple times worldwide. Their symphonic use of sound and innovative musical styles has made each of the group's player's a virtuoso in his own right. For additional ticket information please visit: www.yesworld.com.

Skipped right over us. Fuckers. :x

You'd better not miss this one, Sue. I don't think they'll be touring much longer. They are still awesome... but they aren't getting any younger either. When I saw them last year, Steve Howe looked like the crazy doctor from "Back To The Future"...

yep !

It seems that Geoff Downes (Yes,Asia,The Buggles) will replace Oliver Wakeman on keyboards. Also they are alternating headliners with Styx so we will get the Styx headliner , which really makes no difference as long as they get equal time.

Yep.

Even better... Somehow, I think Styx is one of those few bands that will be much better live without one of its primary members (aka ~ Dennis DeYoung). None of those filler ballads. You should get nearly all rockers. 8)

Despite their "Babe"-licious reputation, Styx could always rock with the best of them... once they got the mic away from the God-damned piano.

:BB Don't Let It End

PS ~ I'd pay serious cash to see JY & Co. doing classics like Half-Penny, Two-Penny and Miss America... :beerbang:

Amen Steve , I love "Pieces of Eight" and "The Grand Illusion" but "Paradise Theater" was a bit too sappy for me and "Mr. Roboto" is when they became dead too me.

Great albums, as are their earlier ones. "Paradise Theater" was mostly good (IMHO), but definitely signaled a turn towards the mellower side of rock. Dennis DeYoung really started flexing his muscle around then, backed by A&M, who just loved the sales numbers on those ballads.

As a side note, I don't know how familiar you are with their early work, but they were fairly progressive in the early 70s. Their first 4 albums (Styx, Styx II, The Serpent Is Rising, and Man Of Miracles) are excellent, IMHO. I was never able to find them on CD (other than "Styx II") until a few years ago, when their original label, Wooden Nickel Records, was bought out by Universal. They re-released those albums (along with a few demos) in a single 2-CD set called "The Complete Wooden Nickel Recordings"... One of the few good things you can ever attribute to Uni if you ask me...

"Equinox" and "Crystal Ball" were pretty cool too... but "Equinox" definitely gets more play time around here.
