Chicago Sun-Times reports that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and NINE INCH NAILS are among the rumored bands for this year's Lollapalooza, scheduled for August 1-3 at Grant Park in Chicago. Meanwhile, according to Chicago Tribune music writer Greg Kot, RADIOHEAD has been booked as the "centerpiece of the festival." C3 Presents, the Austin, Texas-based company behind Lollapalooza, has stated that nothing is confirmed at the moment.

This year's Lollapalooza will be its fourth in Chicago as a destination event, following years as a traveling package. PEARL JAM closed out last year's show, which was marred by reports of webcast censoring by sponsor AT&T.

The official Lollapalooza lineup will not be announced until next month.

NINE INCH NAILS and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS have been confirmed for the Voodoo Experience's tenth-anniversary celebration this October 24, 25, 26 in New Orleans. These artists — along with R.E.M. and the NEVILLE BROTHERS, who are making their first-ever Voodoo appearance — highlight a bill that also continues to honor the rich musical traditions of this unique American city, with the PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND, Irving Mayfield's NEW ORLEANS JAZZ ORCHESTRA and THE NEW ORLEANS BINGO! SHOW on board as the first local acts.

Offering fans a festive New Orleans' celebration steeped in the city's culture and influences, this “tenth ritual” is set in historic City Park, amidst lush lagoons, bayous and one of the largest collections of mature oak trees in the world — all in the shadow of the New Orleans Museum of Art and just minutes from the French Quarter and Central Business District.

A special presale of a limited number of $100, three-day weekend tickets will go on sale Friday, May 2 at http://www.thetenthritual.com.

Billboard.com reports: In a move meant to get fans into premium seats and bypass ticket brokers and scalpers, NINE INCH NAILS has reserved tickets to each of its upcoming summer tour dates for registered users of its Web site, NIN.com.

The limited allotment of tickets will be made available through online pre-sales only to users registered under their legal names on NIN.com. Tickets acquired through these pre-sales will be marked with the purchaser's name and will have to be picked up at the appropriate venue on the date of the event. A valid government-issued ID matching the name printed on the ticket will be required for entrance.

Any other artist that gives a shit about their fans would start doing the same damn thing. F*cking ticket brokers. :x

Tell me about it.

I went to get tix to a Yankees game in June to take my kids to when I visit.

I checked TicketMaster for the date I wanted. Nothing. Not one ticket. :x

I checked other home games in June. Not a single ticket to be had... WTF?

I even checked May and July. Zip. Zero. Zilch.

I go to StubHub... 4000 tickets for the date I wanted.

Suffice to say, I bought them... cursing the whole time. Fortunately, I only got gouged about $10/ticket. Of course, they've also got their own version of TicketSlasher fees. :tdown

I thought scalping was illegal? What the hell is StubHub exactly then?

That shit ought to be illegal.

Scalping is only illegal if the scalper isn't paying taxes. I feel the same way about insurance companies. It's illegal when the mafia does it. :?

God. Reznor & co. are churning out the tunage, ain't they?

I'll wait for the CD... since I'll have to wait that long for the FLAC files to DL anyway.

NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"I am proud to announce the final personnel lineup of NINE INCH NAILS for the foreseeable future. We've added, we've subtracted and we've wound up with unquestionably the strongest lineup I've EVER had. Joining me onstage will be Robin Finck, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Freese and Justin Meldal-Johnson.
