The Pulse of Radio reports that PEARL JAM singer Eddie Vedder will head out on another leg of solo tour dates in August on the East Coast, according to Billboard.com. The vocalist launched his first-ever solo tour last April, which only visited stops on the West Coast. The new run will kick off with a two-night stand in Boston on August 1 and August 2, ending with two shows in Chicago three weeks later. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on July 11, with PEARL JAM fan club members getting a crack at them on July 7.

Vedder's earlier solo run featured a mix of lesser known PEARL JAM songs, a number of covers and tunes from his soundtrack for the 2007 movie "Into the Wild".

PEARL JAM played a private benefit show at New York's Beacon Theatre on Tuesday night (July 1) that raised $3 million for the anti-poverty Robin Hood Foundation. Floor seats for the show went for more than $2,000.

The group's 26-song set list included covers of NEIL YOUNG's "Harvest Moon" and BOB DYLAN's "Masters of War".

Vedder got political during the show, bashing the Bush Administration and noting that there would be a new President the next time PEARL JAM played in New York.

Newly announced Eddie Vedder tour dates:

Aug. 01 - Boston, MA - Opera House
Aug. 02 - Boston, MA - Opera House
Aug. 04 - New York, NY - United Palace Theatre
Aug. 05 - New York, NY - United Palace Theatre
Aug. 07 - Newark, NJ - New Jersey PAC
Aug. 09 - Montreal, QC - Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier/Place
Aug. 12 - Toronto, ON - Massey Hall
Aug. 13 - Toronto, ON - Massey Hall
Aug. 16 - Washington, DC - Warner Theatre
Aug. 17 - Washington, DC - Warner Theatre
Aug. 19 - Milwaukee, WI - Riverside Theatre
Aug. 21 - Chicago, IL - Auditorium Theatre
Aug. 22 - Chicago, IL - Auditorium Theatre

According to The Pulse of Radio, PEARL JAM frontman Eddie Vedder has written a song called "All The Way" for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. The track, which Vedder debuted live at a solo gig in the Windy City last month, is already getting airplay at Chicago radio stations and bars. It will soon be available for downloading at PEARL JAM's web site. Cubs player Ernie Banks reportedly asked Vedder, a longtime fan, to write the song as the Cubs head to the playoffs and a shot at their first World Series victory since 1908.

Wow. Who'd have thought that the guy that wrote Jeremy could be such an over-the-top optimist? :gig:

Perhaps the Cubs could have their arms raised in a "V" ?

While perhaps the other teams will be laying in a pool of maroon below ?

Clearly I remember........picking on that team.......

Then Derrek Lee hit the ball to a surprised left..........

Oh well.........I guess the other teams didn't give attention.......

I read that and then saw Steve's reply below it. I had to go back up to see who wrote the original; I just assumed it was Steve.

Congratulations on marrying your babies' mama.

The Pulse of Radio reprots that PEARL JAM singer Eddie Vedder married his longtime girlfriend, model Jill McCormick, on Saturday (September 18) at a ceremony in Hawaii, according to UsMagazine.com. Among the guests attending the wedding were musician Jack Johnson and actor Sean Penn. Spin reported that the 45-year-old Vedder proposed to the 32-year-old McCormick last December at the Kennedy Honors gala in Washington, D.C., where Vedder paid tribute to Bruce Springsteen.

Vedder and McCormick have two children together, six-year-old Olivia and one-year-old Harper Moon.

Vedder was married once before, divorcing first wife Beth Liebling in 2000 after six years together.

PEARL JAM is currently on hiatus but will perform at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit on October 23 and October 24 in Mountain View, California. The two gigs will also act as an informal 20th anniversary celebration for the Seattle group.
