CHILDREN OF BODOM video for the band's cover version of the CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL classic "Lookin' Out My Back Door" can be viewed below. The song comes off the Finnish metallers' new album, titled "Skeletons In The Closet", which is scheduled for release on September 23 through Spinefarm. The follow-up to last year's "Blooddrunk" is a selection of cover versions, some of them existing recordings, others specially laid down for this release.

CHILDREN OF BODOM has been recording covers since the early days of its career, some predictably heavy ("Silent Scream" by SLAYER, for example), others reflecting an altogether broader taste ("Talk Dirty To Me" by POISON).

Bassist Henkka Seppälä (a.k.a. Henkka T. Blacksmith) of Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM has issued the following update:

"It is great to have a new rehearsal space. We can rehearse whenever and as long as we want. And this is a new thing for us as a band. So making new songs is now really different than before.

"It's been really exciting, once again, to gather at the rehearsal space and start jamming the new ideas Alexi [Laiho, guitar/vocals] has in mind for. I'm really excited now, and looking forward every day to get there again to see what's new this time.

"Soon we will jam some old songs too, since we have these three shows in Finland next month.

"It s been quite a long time since last live show, so that is a fresh thing to do also, the small Fenno-tour. And we've never played in Sotkamo area!!!

"We will enter the studio in the middle of next summer. And then we will take our time to track the stuff, then mix it and master it. Then the labels need their time to prepare the release... so unfortunately the release won't be this year, that's for sure. We will let you know as soon as we know the date.

"When the tracking is done, the rest of the summertime we will spend at some summer festivals in Europe. And, we will put some footage, diary thingies, from the studio, that's for sure!"

CHILDREN OF BODOM recently entered Finland's Petrax Studios to begin work on their as-yet-untitled seventh studio album. The band has enlisted famed rock producer Matt Hyde (SLAYER, MONSTER MAGNET) to oversee the new recording and will remain in the studio through late September. The new record will see release in early 2011.

"We're very excited to let everyone hear what we're creating with this new record," said the band in a statement. "Everything you love about CHILDREN OF BODOM has been magnified tenfold and we're pushing ourselves harder than ever before. Expect nothing less than 'the perfect storm!'"
