Sean, the 16-year-old son of THIN LIZZY/ex-WHITESNAKE guitarist John Sykes, is currently playing keyboards for the California-based thrash/death metal band STATIUS. The unsigned group, which is influenced by such acts as CHILDREN OF BODOM, STRATOVARIOUS, OUTWORLD, EMPEROR and TESTAMENT, has posted three songs from its 2008 demo on the STATIUS MySpace page: "Touch of Salvation", "Forest Kin" and "The Luthier".

STATIUS is:

Ronny - Vocals/Lead Guitar
Sean - Keyboards
Wyatt - Drums
Xavier - Bass/Backing Vocals

The group is currently seeking "a dedicated guitarist who has four years' experience and who plays metal guitar," reads a posting on the band's MySpace page. "Must be between the ages of 16 and 19 and must be drug-free and down to practice at least once a week. Must have gear."

According to the Thin Lizzy - A Rock Legend web site, former THIN LIZZY/MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Brian Robertson will play a few shows with Finnish rockers FIVE FIFTEEN in Germany and Belgium. The details are as follows:

March 12 - Wild At Heart - Berlin, Germany
March 13 - Bunker - Chemnitz, Germany
March 14 - 7er Club - Mannheim, Germany
March 15 - Spirit Of 66 - Verviers, Belgium

According to a posting on the site, "FIVE FIFTEEN will start the evening and play some songs from their new album 'Alcohol'. Then 'Robbo' will join them and the three-guitar attack will offer some timeless LIZZY classics like 'Still In Love With You', 'Don't Believe A Word', 'Rosalie', 'Silver Dollar', 'Jailbreak' and more!"

Robertson recently entered Polar studios in Stockholm, Sweden with Ian Haugland (EUROPE) and Nalle Pahlsson on drums and bass, respectively. According to Robertson's manager Sören Lindberg, "The first session is now complete and we've got three tracks recorded. The next session is not yet scheduled, but it should take place during this winter or early spring. The songs recorded so far are 'Do It Till We Drop' (Miller/Robertson), 'Blues Boy' (Lynott/Robertson) and 'Linger My Love' (Karlsson/Robertson) with a lineup consisting of Robbo on guitars and vocals, Sulo on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Ian Haugland on drums and percussion, Nalle Pahlsson on bass and Linéa Helgé on backing vocals. Recording took place at Polar studios in Stockholm by Chris Laney and Lennart Östlund on January 10-12 and Marshall amps were supplied by DM Audio."

MLP is releasing the CD, THIN LIZZY - LIVE UK TOUR 75 and the label is looking for questions from fans to submit to members Scott Gorham (guitar), Brain Downey (drums) and Brian Robertson (guitar).

"We plan to send some questions to Scott, Brian D and Brian R which will be written into some sleeve notes for the booklet. These will comprise questions about this period in Lizzy's history (November 1975): How did the set list develop as they started to write the songs for the next album Jailbreak, favourite songs, venues, cities to play, equipment, on the road stories etc. If you have some question for the booklet you can send them to info@MLPLIVE.com.

Lizzy did do a stint and then the friggen wheels fell off all up the West coast. Yep I lost some cash rebooking for the shows that didn't happen. Good story I got to go see Y and T instead. I think Gorham and Sykes owe me about 500 bones for their fucking fiasco of which they never did apologize for or explain WHY they pulled the pin. Now that is true professionalism.

Sykes is pretty famous for that sort of crap anyway, isn't he?

He should remember that the fans put him where he is... :tdown

he wasn't there really that long in the band. His style didn't really lend itself to the vibe of the band. I call him a filler guy.

FYI ~ Snowy White was with the band from 1980-82... and recorded "Chinatown" and "Renegade." Sykes replaced him in the band...
