Valerie is officially single. Get the hell out of my way, people! :D

TMZ.com reports that Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli are officially single.

Bertinelli originally filed for divorce in December of 2005. The two had been married since 1981. They have one son, Wolfgang, who is currently on tour with VAN HALEN as bassist Michael Anthony's replacement.

Bertinelli is expected to reveal all about her battle with depression and weight gain and failed marriage to Eddie Van Halen in her forthcoming memoirs. The former "One Day At A Time" star signed a deal earlier in the year with Simon & Schuster imprint Free Press to write "Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time", which is set to released on February 26, 2008.

Bertinelli previously stated, "Writing a book is an exciting new adventure for me. I've grown up in and out of the public eye, survived some tough times, learned some important lessons, and come out ‚Äö?†??‚Äö?¢‚Ä¢ as has my entire family ‚Äö?†??‚Äö?¢‚Ä¢ in a great place. I think it's a recipe for a good book. Ironically, as there's less of me, I have more to say."

No, Sir. I called dibs on Valerie way back in 1976... while watching "One Day At A Time" and sporting my first chubby...

Now here a conundrum for old Steve:

Warner Bros. has set an April 23 release date for a six-album VAN HALEN cardboard sleeve reissue series featuring the following albums:

"Van Halen" (1978)
"Van Halen 2" (1979)
"Women and Children First" (1980)
"Fair Warning" (1981)
"Diver Down" (1982)
"1984" (1984)

Each cardboard sleeve reissue from VAN HALEN comes with a replica original jacket, original labels, and original Japanese Obi strip. Features remastering from 2001.

An Obi strip is a loop of folded paper usually found around the left side or bottom of a Japanese or Taiwanese LP record, music CD, video game, or book. It features the title and other information, such as price and catalog numbers. The name comes from the sashes worn with kimonos and martial arts uniforms.

What would Steve do? :o

No mystery here, actually...

Eddie can keep them. I have them all on CD... and I also have all of them on vinyl.

Why would I need repica sleeves when I have them all with ORIGINAL sleeves?

That being said... I'll bet Earl has an obi-induced chubby.

They guy will have an obi strip that fits over one side of his casket. :lmao:

Hmmm...might be worth seeing.
The Meridian is a real tiny club.
Fairly large standing room floor with no more than just a few tables.

According to the Edmonton Sun, Eddie Van Halen's ex-wife, Valerie Bertinelli, says the guitarist is OK, despite rumors to the contrary.

A publicist's statement about Van Halen, which revealed that he is "undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedures," left fans wondering if the problem was booze or a recurrence of cancer.

Over the phone from Ohio where she is touring in support of her new book, "Losing It", Bertinelli says she completely understands the public interest in Van Halen's health.

"I just talked to him a couple of days ago. I understand the curiosity — I was curious until I talked to him. He sounds terrific," said the actress.

"He's just being very pro-active. It's not as awful as people think it is. I'm so proud of him right now. He sounded terrific, and hopefully they'll [VAN HALEN] start back up [touring] again on the 11th."

This is probably Wolfie's first job. She's just trying to save it!

The Pulse of Radio reports that VAN HALEN helped raise more than $1.5 million for the Tiger Woods Foundation with the band's performance at the Tiger Jam XI fundraiser this past Saturday (April 19) at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas. According to a press release, VAN HALEN singer David Lee Roth made a personal donation of $100,000, while the VAN HALEN family donated another $100,000 and an autographed Eddie Van Halen guitar for auction.

The event was VAN HALEN's second performance after coming off the road five weeks ago so that Eddie Van Halen could undergo unspecified medical testing.

The group made its first live appearance since the break last Thursday (April 17) in Reno, Nevada, where SleazeRoxx.com reported that the quartet made a "triumphant return to the stage." Eddie Van Halen was said to be running and jumping around the stage throughout the evening.

The reasons for Eddie's testing have not been disclosed, nor has the current status of his condition.

The tour, the first in 22 years to feature Roth on the mic, continues on Thursday night (April 24) in Dallas.
