This is one band, as of late, that I am listening more of. They have the southern rock flavor that I don't find I can listen to the odd time like Kansas, 38 Special, etc. I will eventually pick away at the pile of their discography like I am doing with a a few bands. 3 Doors Down also has that sort of southern rock vibe and they only have a couple cds in their collection. I started with the best of with FOGHAT and now am working on the individual cds.

I was in the used cd shop where they are hitting people up at 9.99 for most cds which is pretty close to brand new cost at HMV. I found the FOGHAT with no sticker on it and buddy behind the counter who was listening to Sinatra's greatest hits says he will give it to me for 7.99. Fine no problem. I then find a Hooters Australian release unmarked. I ask buddy how much ? He goes 9.99. Most of the songs on this cd are off the greatest hits that I already own. I tell him that I am not paying 9.99 for stuff I already have and I doubt he is going to sell this cd anytime soon. Buddy sticks to his guns on this one. Okay .....pass . I get to the counter and the Pete Townsend's greatest hits has some scratches on the disc. Buddy has the cleaner machine but it didn't catch all of them and he wants 9.99. I told him 7.99 is where I am at due to the condition and I don't even know if it won't skip. He gives it to me for 7.99. Not much at that location as I only walked out with 4 cds.

You're lucky as hell.

They just reissued most of their back catalog as 2-for-1s for a good price. Before that, some of their better CDs were going for $50 - $60.

Ask me how I know?

That's not what your neighbors say. :tease:

I agree, though. Given a choice, I only order "like new"... but my standards have dropped as some CDs have been harder to find.

I love me some Foghat, brother. 8)

Lonesome Dave & company put out some great shit back in the day. :guitar3:

Foghat is still touring, even though half the band is dead (singer/rhythm guitarist Lonesome Dave Peverett and lead guitarist Rod Price)... and the only remaining member is drummer Roger Earl. I hear they still put on a good show, though... if you don't mind a tribute band wearing the band's original logo.

PS ~ I love me some Savoy Brown too... especially the 60s and early 70s stuff.
